![]() Design companies and theorists like Guderian for Germany also apply on the equipment level, with guderian being somewhat unique in that he applies retroactively to all existing tanks, not only those researched under his presence. But also giving it every level of gun and armor upgrades that are -2% speed each, would be a total of -20%, and they cancel each other out for ultimately no modification. For example, taking a light tank 2 equipment that has a speed of 12kph and giving it 5 engine upgrades for a total of +20% would increase the speed of the equipment to 14.4 KPH. The first layer is the equipment, how much speed the equipment itself has. Layers are multiplicative between each other, but additive within the layer itself. There are 3 layers to determining final stats, and these layers apply for most stats. The absolute minimum speed a division will move under any conditions seems to be 1.0kph. I'm sure most people have already figured out that the speed of the division is going to be limited by the slowest battalion, and that the minimum base divisional speed of a division is 4 KPH. Mostly to try and justify my irrational hatred of recon companies, but also because I just want to try and spread information. I'm sure a lot of people already have an idea about how division speed works, but I dug into it a bit to figure out more about it. The research/tech-trees should be unfixed/open and need to be created by research (depending on strategic decisions and other factors) and not fixed if you ask me.HoI4 Wiki /r/Paradoxplaza Patch Notes Dev Diaries Paradox Forums Teamspeak Discord Welcome to /r/HoI4 I think research and developement of new tank models and their stats should depend on different factors like expierence, investments, ressources, ministers etc.! so that its possible that the italians research a fictive heavy tank that may have different stats than the german heavy tank of the same level just with different stats because the italian one is less heavy and has other advantages/disadvantages. But, why dont you just accept that italians never really developed heavy tanks (so you have no historical role model for the tech tree) but you could do that in Hoi4 if you lay all your ressources in such a project, whats wrong with that?
